JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary
The HRIS Analyst reports to the HRIS Manager and will work closely with the HRIS Manager to proactively identify critical metrics, trends, and reporting to develop talent insights and support university strategic initiatives.  This position will work in collaboration within the People and Talent organization as well as other areas of the company to provide data analysis and support project goals and deliverables to meet business needs and future growth. This position will serve as a technical resource in support of the various systems used within the People and Talent organization.
 
Essential Responsibilities
The HRIS Analyst will be responsible for a range of activities, including:
• Design and deliver metrics, reports, and dashboards, as well as provide strategic analysis of workforce data, to support data-driven decision-making within People and Talent and across WGU.
• Act as technical point of contact for system questions and troubleshooting; provide maintenance and support for the various systems used within People and Talent, coordinating with system vendor support as appropriate.
• Help maintain data integrity in systems by running queries and auditing data.
• Regularly support People and Talent process improvement projects by delivering metrics to support business case development and change management efforts.
• Coordinate, assist with, and report on projects, including, but not limited to, project tracking and follow up, data analysis, preparation of communications, drafting or editing of processes or guidelines, and training.
• Assist with requirements gathering, development, testing, implementation and support of various systems and processes.
• Assist with the maintenance and management of People and Talent records, including, but not limited to, employee files, I-9’s, agreements, etc.
• Work closely with other team members to brainstorm, strategize and complete ad hoc requests creatively, effectively and efficiently.
• Other duties as assigned.
 
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a human resources or business related field.
• 2-4 years of Workday Implementation experience

Other Responsibilities include:
• Work effectively in the face of ambiguity, shifting priorities and rapid change.
• Effective listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Practical knowledge of importing and verifying data for use in reports, spreadsheets, graphs, and/or flow charts.
• Ability to work with sensitive employee data, maintaining confidentiality in all situations.
 
Preferred Qualifications
• Workday HCM Core certification preferred
• Workday Integrations certification preferred
• Experience using Workday preferred.
• PHR certification a plus.
